The title of this book is misleading. We're fortunate to have several good recordings of the music from Purcell's semi-opera 'King Arthur' but I've never been able to find the spoken play that comprises the rest of the piece. When I saw "Dryden's Opera of King Arthur" I thought this would be that text. In fact, it is a reproduction of the piano score reduction of Purcell's music from the semi-opera. Why the publisher chose to emphasize Dryden on the cover is a puzzle. That said, the reproduction is fairly clear with only a few gaps.Product details
